Syed Tajudeen Abdul Rahman's Innovative Design Wins Golden A' Design Award

Saxound stands out with its cylindrical shape and threading assembly. Its compact dimensions, inspired by a regular compact disc, make it easily portable. The speaker is divided into four parts: the one-button control, the base battery, the pentagonal module, and the module cover. These parts are connected by threading, a feature that sets Saxound apart from other speakers that typically use screws.

The speaker comprises two 1”tweeters, two 2”mid drivers, and one bass radiator. The materials used include aluminium for the body and poly-carbonate for the button, chosen for its unbreakable reliability. This design creates a new space in the category of wireless speakers, based on its manufacturing technique, form-factor, and user experience.

The Saxound is assembled using aluminium body, break-free polymers, shock-proof silicons, chrome, and rubberized grips. Its technical specifications are as follows: Dimension: 130 mm x 130 mm x 95 mm. The speaker operates through a single button, and a circular LED notifies the user of the ongoing operation. The internal module is a fusion of hard bio-plastic with shock-resistant silicon savers, protecting the drivers from damage due to accidents.

The design project started in early October 2012 and concluded by late January 2013. One of the significant challenges faced during the design process was lining up the array of sound drivers in a small factor assembly. Despite this, Syed Tajudeen Abdul Rahman managed to create a unique and innovative product that has been recognized and awarded for its excellence.

Saxound was awarded the Golden A' Digital and Electronic Device Design Award in 2013. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
